I am Thomas Bourany, a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Department of Economics at Columbia University for the year 2025-2026. I will start as an Assistant Professor in Economics at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF) in Rome starting in the Fall 2026. I completed my PhD in Economics at the University of Chicago in 2025.
I specialize in macroeconomics, climate economics, and international trade. I am also interested in issues related to fiscal and monetary policies, as well as mathematical and computational methods in economics.
